Lazy pilaf
Description
Lazy pilaf turns out thanks to using ground meat instead of meat chunks. Ground meat simmers and cooks much faster. For a lighter version of the dish, use chicken mince. It's better to use parboiled rice for cooking this dish, so you get "each grain separate." Besides the listed ingredients, you can add your favorite pilaf spices. Here's how to do it:
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Peel and wash the vegetables. Rinse the rice several times with water.
- 2
Step 2

Finely chop the onion and grate the carrot on a coarse grater. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or saucepan. First sauté the onion, then add the carrot. Cook until golden brown.

Step 3

Next, place the minced meat into the pan and fry until almost cooked. Season with salt to taste and add chopped garlic.
- 4
Step 4

Next, place the washed rice, level it with a spatula, and pour water over it, making it 1.5 cm higher than the rice level.
- 5
Step 5

When the broth comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low, season with salt to taste, and cook covered until the liquid has completely evaporated.
- 6
Step 6

The lazy pilaf is ready! Let it stand for another 5 minutes, covered, on the turned-off stove, and then it's ready to serve.
- 7
Step 7

Serve at the table.
