
Lazy Kulich
Description
Recipe for a cake with liquid dough without kneading. This cake has earned its name for a reason! You won’t have to knead the dough, and the preparation itself will take a minimum of your active effort. You can add any dried fruits and candied fruits to the dough. Use any glaze to your taste. It can be served with tea or coffee.

Prepare all the ingredients.

Remove the zest from the orange and squeeze out the juice. Rinse the raisins and pour orange juice over them.

Add 2 tsp of sugar and yeast to warm milk. Stir and let stand for 10 minutes.

In a deep bowl, whisk the yolks with sugar and vanilla.

Add softened butter and spices.

Add the yeast mixture.

Mix everything together, adding the flour in portions.

The finished dough should have a consistency roughly like that of pancakes. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in a warm spot for 1 hour.

Then mix, add candied fruit, flour‑coated raisins, and orange zest.

Transfer the dough into the molds, filling them about halfway. Let the dough rise for another approximately 1 hour. Important! Place the molds with the dough directly onto a baking sheet so you don’t have to shake them again, otherwise the dough may collapse.

Bake the kulich in a well‑preheated oven. First 20 minutes at 190 °C, then at 160 °C until fully cooked (test with a wooden skewer). Then place the kulich on a barrel, on a thick towel, and while they are hot, turn them from one side to the other. The finished lazy kulich, once cooled, are decorated with any favorite icing.
