
Lasagna
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Lasagna is a very tasty and hearty dish. The finished dish can be served at the table.

Step 1

1. Prepare the sauce. Chop the onion and basil. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, cook until softened, about 12 minutes. Add the beef and sausage to the pan, cook until done, breaking up the meat with a spoon, about 5 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes. Let cool.

2. Prepare the lasagna. Finely chop the spinach. Grate the Parmesan and Mozzarella. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees. Cook the lasagna in a large pot of boiling salted water until almost done, about 7 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water. In a medium bowl, mix ricotta and Parmesan cheese. Add the spinach and stir to combine. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add the egg and mix well.

3. Drain the lasagna noodles and dry them. Spread 1/2 cup of sauce on the bottom of a glass baking dish. Place 4 lasagna noodles on the sauce, then spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles. Sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese. Spoon half of the remaining sauce over the cheese, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Repeat with 4 more lasagna noodles, the remaining cheese mixture, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, and the rest of the sauce. Top with additional grated cheese and basil.

4. Lasagna can be prepared 1 day ahead. Cover it tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Bake the lasagna for 40 minutes, covered with aluminum foil. Remove the foil and continue baking until the sauce begins to bubble, about 40 minutes more. Let the lasagna stand for 15 minutes before serving.
