Filо pastry lasagna

Description

The recipe won't take much time. Working with filo dough requires some care. It is very delicate, so it should be thawed 2 hours before preparing the dish. Frozen sheets will crumble. Keep them refrigerated until the moment you place them into the pan. Otherwise, the lasagna preparation process is very simple. Serve hot.

    Prepare the necessary ingredients. Take the filo dough out of the freezer two hours before preparing the dish.

    Finely dice the onion. Sauté in vegetable oil until soft.

    Add the minced meat. Season with salt and add black pepper to taste. Mix well. Fry until the meat turns pale.

    Peel the tomatoes and grate them on a grater. Add tomato juice to the resulting puree to reach a volume of 250 ml.

    Once the minced meat turns evenly white, add the strained tomatoes with their juice. Simmer for 10–15 minutes until the mixture begins to thicken. Do not evaporate the liquid too much.

    In a saucepan or small pot, mix 2 tbsp of vegetable oil and flour. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.

    Pour in the milk, stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Heat over low heat until thickened. The sauce should have a consistency similar to thick kefir.

    Take a spacious pan with a wide bottom. Grease the sides with vegetable oil. Pour half of the milk sauce into the bottom of the pan. Place one sheet of filo pastry and press it gently against the pan. The sheets are very delicate and tear easily, so handle them carefully.

    Visually divide the meat sauce into three parts. Place one part onto the dough and cover with the ends of the sheet.

    On top, place another layer of filo dough, then the meat sauce, and fold the edges of the dough over to seal. Repeat for one more layer.

    Cover the meat layer with a sheet of filo. Brush the top with the milk sauce, sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 25 minutes, until golden brown.
