Lavash with Suluguni and Cilantro
Description
Almost every national cuisine has a dish similar to this one. Mexicans and Spaniards love wrapping cheese and vegetables in tortillas; for Italians, something similar is a closed pizza; Slavs wrap cheese fillings in pancakes. And Caucasians wrap everything in their bread—lavash. Lavash with suluguni and cilantro is insanely simple to make, but very, very tasty—especially if you serve it piping hot, still warm. You can serve it as an aperitif, as an appetizer, or as a quick snack with tea or coffee. And there are only a few ingredients, and they’re all very simple. In short—not just a dish, but a real find. The appetizer is ready. Serve right away.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Grate the suluguni cheese on a coarse grater.
- 2
Step 2

Chop the washed cilantro (not too finely, into pieces approximately 1x1 cm in size).
- 3
Step 3

Mix the cilantro with the cheese; if desired, you can add salt or pepper (I don't recommend it—the dish is very tasty even without salt and pepper).
- 4
Step 4

Wash the tomato and slice it into rings about 0.5 cm thick.
- 5
Step 5

Cut the lavash into pieces approximately 20x20 cm in size.
- 6
Step 6

Place pieces of tomato on the edge of the lavash.
- 7
Step 7

Place the cheese and cilantro filling on top of the tomatoes.
- 8
Step 8

Carefully wrap our lavash.
- 9
Step 9

Place the rolled lavash on a preheated skillet lightly greased with oil.
- 10
Step 10

Heat the rolled lavash over low heat under a lid, about 3–4 minutes per side. The lavash should brown slightly and the cheese in the filling should start to melt.
