Lavash on a pan
Description
Perfectly complements tea and coffee. From the prepared lavash, you can make various cold and hot appetizers: canapés, rolls, juicy shawarma, and pies. The baking takes only 25 minutes, but the dough must rest for 15 minutes to activate the gluten; otherwise, it will tear when rolled out. Roll the dough as thin as possible. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Sift wheat flour into a deep bowl, make a depression in the center, and pour in vegetable oil and add salt. You can optionally make lavash without adding vegetable oil. Do not add egg to the dough at all!
- 3
Step 3

Pour in warm, but not hot, water and knead the dough.
- 4
Step 4

Shape the dough into a ball and cover it with a towel or plastic wrap, letting it rest for 15 minutes.
- 5
Step 5

Then divide the dough into equal parts and roll each part into a thin sheet. Heat a skillet over high heat, then reduce the heat to medium and transfer the rolled dough onto the skillet using a rolling pin. There is no need to grease the skillet.
- 6
Step 6

Fry the lavash for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown spots appear.
- 7
Step 7

Fry the remaining portions the same way, placing them onto a plate. To keep the lavash soft, immediately spray them with water and cover with a towel, as they become brittle and break apart once cooled.
