Lavash without yeast
Description
Homemade baked goods for tea. I think everyone knows what lavash is. These thin flatbreads are delicious with soup or simply on their own. They are used in preparing various dishes. My kids wrap practically everything in lavash—cheese with herbs, meat, fruit fillings, and much more. In our home, lavash never lasts long. I'd like to share with you an easy yeast-free lavash recipe that can be easily made at home. All you need is desire and basic dough-handling skills. If you have both, then read on and let's get started. A small tip: if you're making lavash to wrap fillings later, stack the cooked lavash sheets on top of each other and wrap them in a towel—they'll soften slightly and won't crack when rolling. Enjoy your delicious lavash either cooled down or slightly warm.
Instructions

Step 1

Sift the flour and add turmeric and dried basil to it. If you don't like these spices, you can make lavash without them.
- 2
Step 2

Dissolve the salt in warm water, add vegetable oil and mix well. Pour the resulting solution into the flour and knead the dough.
- 3
Step 3

We'll get a smooth, not too stiff dough. Let it rest for about 30-40 minutes.
- 4
Step 4

Divide the dough into small portions. I bake lavash on a 26 cm diameter pan, so I divide the dough into 24-25 pieces.

Step 5

The most difficult part in making lavash is rolling it out. The dough must be rolled as thin as possible.

Step 6

Lavash is baked quickly on a dry, hot skillet—literally about half a minute on each side.
