Squid ink pasta
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. The finished squid ink pasta with seafood will delight even the most sophisticated gourmets. Homemade pasta takes 30 minutes to prepare, while the seafood requires only 10-15 minutes to cook. Fresh pasta cooks in just a few minutes, then is mixed with the cooked seafood, simmered in a pan for about 5 minutes over low heat until fully combined, and served hot. By the way, the process can be significantly simplified by using ready-made store-bought pasta. The finished dish is now ready to be served.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. To make homemade squid ink noodles, simply take flour, water, and squid ink; you can add a little anise liqueur, but it's optional. So, knead a firm dough and add a bit of squid ink.
- 2
Step 2

2. The dough should be folded several times "like a envelope" and rolled out again (similar to puff pastry).
- 3
Step 3

3. After several rollings, the dough needs to be placed into a special machine with rollers, passing it through several times. If you don't have such equipment, roll it out with a rolling pin and repeat the process multiple times until the dough becomes perfectly smooth.
- 4
Step 4

4. The dough should have the following consistency — perfectly smooth. The thickness of the sheet should not exceed 2 mm.
- 5
Step 5

5. Final step: replace the dough rollers with spaghetti cutters and pass the dough through them. Now the noodles are ready to be boiled.
- 6
Step 6

6. Put the noodles into salted water to boil, and in the meantime start preparing the seafood: clean the squid and boil it in salted water as well. You can boil any seafood according to your taste.
- 7
Step 7

7. When the seafood is ready, slice it into strips and add the spices.
- 8
Step 8

8. Capers, chili pepper, and garlic go very well with the noodles. Add these ingredients to our pasta and seafood.
- 9
Step 9

9. And here's your squid ink pasta, ready to serve! Enjoy it hot, optionally with a glass of white wine.
