
Beef with sauerkraut
Description
This is a fairly hearty and calorie-rich hot dish with a rich and vibrant flavor. I like to serve it as a main course, accompanied by a side of plain boiled potatoes with butter. Do try it yourself.

1. Pour a little vegetable oil into a frying pan and sear the beef, cut into cubes, over high heat until a crust forms.

2. Reduce the heat to medium and add the finely chopped onion to the pan with the meat.

3. After 5 minutes, add the grated carrot.

4. Add cabbage to the skillet. Sauté for another 3 minutes.

5. Add the tomato paste and pour in the tomato sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste, add a pinch of sugar, and a bay leaf for flavor.

6. Reduce the heat to a minimum and let it simmer until the beef is fully cooked. If the liquid evaporates completely, add a little water.
