Grape leaf kvass
Description
This is a classic recipe for making kvass from grape leaves. Both old and young branches with leaves are suitable for the kvass. The drink is prepared once, meaning that after obtaining the first batch, the raw materials are discarded. Want more? Repeat the procedure from the beginning. Good luck! Serve chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

We thoroughly wash the grape leaves.
- 2
Step 2

Using a blender, grind the leaves into a pulp. They should release their juice.
- 3
Step 3

Place the leaves in a 3-liter jar, add sugar. Pour water in the proportion: 75% - leaves, 25% - sugar.

Step 4

Cover the jar with a lid and place it in a warm spot for 2–3 days. After this time, the pressure of the gases will pop the lid off (if the jar was filled). If the lid hasn't popped, continue fermenting until the water turns yellow and develops a characteristic smell.

Step 5

We strain the ready kvass and pour it into bottles. Store in the refrigerator.
