120 min4 serv.19 февр. 2026 г.

Description

The recipe won't take much time. Pour boiling water over the dried fruits, drain the water the first time, then pour boiling water again and let it sit for 15–20 minutes. Cook the rice. Warm up the honey. Then mix everything together. Serve chilled.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

First, you need to prepare the dried fruits. Place the raisins in a saucepan and pour water over them. You can substitute them with prunes or dried apricots, as kutya, the recipe you are reading, is associated with certain fruits. Leave the raisins for 20 minutes, then drain the water and rinse them.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Pour a glass of water over the raisins and boil for no more than five minutes. If using other dried fruits, chop them additionally after cooking.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Take honey. Put it in a small saucepan and heat over low heat for two minutes. If you don't have honey at home, take regular granulated sugar and dissolve it in hot water.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Chop the candied fruit into small pieces. Attention! These fruit pieces are quite sweet, so do not use too much. Kutia is a recipe with honey, and the dish could become overly sweet.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

To make the rice cook better, soak it a few hours beforehand, then drain the water and add fresh water in a 1:4 ratio, using 400 ml of water per 100 g of rice.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

Place it in a saucepan with a thick bottom to cook. Reduce the heat to a minimum. Gradually, the water will evaporate, and the rice will finish cooking.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

3 minutes before cooking is complete (the rice should already be soft), add the candied fruit and raisins. Pour in the liquid honey or dissolved sugar and mix well with a spoon. Turn off the heat. Let it cool — the dish is served cold.
