Chicken roll in a bag
Description
Suitable for both holidays and everyday meals. This homemade chicken roll in a bag takes a while to prepare, but in taste it is in no way inferior to store-bought versions—and even better, since here you know for sure there are no “additives.” By the way, you can “elevate” the recipe by adding small pieces of carrot, cranberries, and so on—to make the finished dish look prettier. Serve the appetizer at the table.

Step 1

1. Cut the chicken into small cubes; add crushed garlic and water. Mix, add the spices, and mix again. Then sprinkle in the gelatin straight from the packet and mix again until smooth and uniform.

2. Stuff the opened cardboard Tetra Pak juice or milk carton with this mixture.

Step 3

3. Wrap this assembly in a roasting bag and place it vertically in a bowl of water. The water should be level with the meat. Put it in the oven and braise at 180°C for about an hour, adding water from time to time.

Step 4

4. By the way, you can skip baking and cook it in a pot on the stovetop instead—but then braise for two hours. Let the bag cool carefully afterward. And only then open it.
