Chicken Pate Shaped as a Rat for New Year
Description
The recipe won't take much time. To achieve a smooth, tender pâté consistency, add broth in portions while blending. If you don't have broth, you can substitute cream. Serve warm or chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Chop the onion roughly, grate the carrot on a coarse grater. Sauté in a small amount of vegetable oil until cooked through.
- 3
Step 3

Boil the chicken breast. Cool in the broth. Strain the broth.
- 4
Step 4

Rinse the chicken liver, salt it, season with pepper, and dredge in flour.
- 5
Step 5

Heat a small amount of vegetable oil and fry the liver over medium heat until cooked through.
- 6
Step 6

Transfer the chicken fillet, sautéed vegetables, and sautéed liver into the blender bowl. Pulse until smooth. While blending, add the broth in small amounts. It will make the pâté smooth.
- 7
Step 7

If your blender is large enough, add sour cream and soft butter to the mixture and blend again. In my case, the bowl is small, so I transferred the mixture to another container and blended it with an immersion blender.
- 8
Step 8

Put the pâté in the refrigerator for an hour. Then prepare it for serving.
- 9
Step 9

Transfer the chilled pâté onto plastic wrap. Wrap it and shape it into a teardrop.
- 10
Step 10

Transfer the pâté to a serving platter, first removing the film. Finish decorating: use cloves for the eyes, make the ears and whiskers from fresh cucumber, and the nose from a tomato.
- 11
Step 11

Place the pâté back in the refrigerator before serving.
- 12
Step 12

And have a wonderful holiday!
