Chicken strips (like at KFC)
Description
The appetizer is quick and easy to prepare. The meat will be more tender if it sits in the marinade longer. When pan-frying, the strips absorb more oil, so I prefer a deep fryer. It turns out very tender and juicy, and paired with a delicious sauce — simply extraordinary. Serve with herbs and sauce.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. For the marinade, pour into a container 1 cup of water, 2 tablespoons sunflower oil, 1 tbsp wine vinegar, 1 tsp salt and the same amount of sugar. And 0.5 tsp each of red pepper, black pepper, and dry garlic.
- 2
Step 2

2. Cut the fillet into thin strips, then cut them in half. You should end up with elongated pieces of meat.
- 3
Step 3

3. Place all the meat in the marinade, mix, cover with a lid — and let it marinate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
- 4
Step 4

4. For breading you need 2 egg whites, 0.5 teaspoon each of red pepper, black pepper, and garlic. Mix everything together.
- 5
Step 5

5. Add a teaspoon of salt to a glass of flour and mix. The corn flakes must not be sweet. Crush them, but not too finely.
- 6
Step 6

6. Dip each piece of meat in egg white, then in flour, then again in egg white and in corn breading. Place the pieces on a plate or in a deep-fryer basket.

Step 7

7. You can fry the strips in a skillet or in a deep fryer; the main thing is to have enough oil. Cook for 10–12 minutes until golden, then place on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Done!
