Chicken legs
Description
Chicken legs are loved and desired by everyone; they pair perfectly with side dishes such as grains, pasta, or potatoes, as well as with stewed vegetables or a fresh vegetable salad. This dish can even be offered to those who follow a healthy diet. The key is to choose spices according to your taste—you can add garlic or onion, bay leaf, or fresh herbs.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Rinse the chicken legs under water and remove the yellow skin from the bottom, if present. Pat dry with paper towels.
- 2
Step 2

In a skillet or saucepan, heat the vegetable oil and add the chicken legs — they need to be well browned before simmering.
- 3
Step 3

Sear them over medium heat for about 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally. If you prefer browner legs, slightly increase the heat.

Step 4

Pour in the tomato juice and increase the heat to bring the liquid to a boil. Instead of juice, you can use tomato pulp or chopped tomatoes, adding 100–150 ml of boiling water. For those who don't like tomato sauces, it can be replaced with a creamy sauce by adding 150 ml of low-fat cream.

Step 5

Next, add seasoning to taste. It's best to use chicken or vegetable seasoning, or a universal spice blend. Oregano, Italian herb mix, ground dried garlic, etc., also work well.
- 6
Step 6

Cover the container with a lid, reduce the heat to medium, and simmer the chicken legs for another 15–20 minutes, turning occasionally. They will steam perfectly under the lid, absorbing the tomato flavor and aroma. If you wish to thicken the sauce, add 1 tablespoon of flour or starch, stir well, and cook for 1 minute until thickened.

Step 7

Place the delicious chicken legs on a plate and serve with your favorite side dish: vermicelli, pasta, mashed potatoes, etc. Serve hot. Enjoy your meal!
