Chicken drumsticks in a pan
Description
There are times when you have absolutely no time for anything, not even a quick trip to the store, but you're really hungry. Then you just need to open the fridge and check what's inside. Even if there are no exotic delicacies, you'll surely find some chicken and a couple of onions. And with just these ingredients, you can make a delicious meal—especially if you have this simple recipe for chicken drumsticks cooked in a skillet. Sure, you could just fry the chicken, but in my opinion, it often turns out quite dry. Cooked this way, though, the meat comes out juicy and tender. So with this skillet chicken drumstick recipe, you can turn even the simplest ingredients into a wonderful lunch or dinner.

Now we salt and pepper them, and if possible, let them marinate for at least half an hour. If there's no time, immediately pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and place it on the stove. Fry the drumsticks over high heat first until they develop a golden crust, then reduce the heat to medium and continue cooking.

Step 3

While the chicken is cooking, peel the onion and cut it into quarters.

Step 4

Set the stove to the lowest heat and add the sliced onions to the pan with the chicken. Fry together, stirring, until the onions turn golden. Then transfer all the contents of the pan into a pot and pour hot water over the chicken, making sure the liquid does not completely cover the drumsticks. Cover the pot with a lid and simmer the chicken over the lowest heat for about 7–10 minutes.
