Chicken in sour cream with red pepper
Description
More than anything in the world, I love recipes like this one—how should I put it more clearly—practical ones. Recipes with a huge number of complicated ingredients with strange names, requiring you to perform three-hour acrobatics in the kitchen—sure, that's great, but better suited for restaurant cooking. At home, you need something quick, tasty, and simple—the three turtles upon which home cooking stands. This chicken in sour cream with red pepper is exactly that kind of dish. When you have a few ingredients at home and just about 20 minutes of free time after work. The result is a very satisfying meal that takes minimal effort and time to prepare—perfect after an exhausting workday.
Instructions

Step 1

Step one - working with the ingredients. Cut the chicken fillet into small longitudinal pieces, the pepper into small cubes, and finely chop the onion.

Step 2

Step two – heat a little vegetable oil in a frying pan and sauté the chicken pieces until cooked through (about 7 minutes over medium heat). Transfer the chicken to a bowl, then in the same oil sauté the pepper and onion for another 5 minutes, until the onion becomes translucent.

Step 3

Reduce the heat to almost minimum, return the chicken to the skillet, add sour cream, mix and simmer for about 5 minutes.

Step 4

At the very end, add torn basil leaves by hand. Serve with your favorite side dish—I think it goes well with rice, buckwheat, or pasta.
