Chicken in spicy sauce
Description
To prepare chicken in a spicy sauce, you will need chicken breasts and a few capers (optional—you can omit them or replace with pickles). Instead of lemon, I sometimes use lime. Choose dry white wine. By the way, the finished dish pairs wonderfully with vegetables, such as asparagus or green beans.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Rinse the chicken and, pressing it down with your hand, cut each breast into two halves.
- 3
Step 3

Thinner pieces will cook faster and more evenly.
- 4
Step 4

Season the chicken well with salt and pepper.
- 5
Step 5

Over medium heat, heat a tablespoon of olive oil and half the butter in a frying pan.
- 6
Step 6

Coat the chicken in flour, shaking off the excess.
- 7
Step 7

When the butter is well heated, place the chicken breasts in the pan.
- 8
Step 8

Sear the chicken until golden brown, 4 minutes on each side. Then transfer to a plate.
- 9
Step 9

Finely chop the garlic, onion, and herbs.
- 10
Step 10

Add the remaining olive oil to the skillet. Reduce the heat slightly and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
- 11
Step 11

Then pour the wine into the pan and let the alcohol evaporate. Then add half a cup of broth.
- 12
Step 12

Mix the remaining broth with a teaspoon of flour and add it to the frying pan. Stir everything and cook the sauce until it slightly thickens.
- 13
Step 13

Then remove the sauce from the heat and squeeze in the lemon juice.
- 14
Step 14

Add capers to the sauce.
- 15
Step 15

And the remaining butter. Mix with a whisk.
- 16
Step 16

Pour the cooked chicken with a spicy sauce, serve garnished with herbs and lemon slices.
