Chicken with mayonnaise and garlic
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Use any meaty parts of the chicken: drumsticks, wings, breast, back pieces, etc. If desired, you can remove the meat from the bones and cook just the meat. Use homemade or store-bought mayonnaise, but make sure it's not sour. First, fry the chicken to get a golden crust, then pour in the mayonnaise sauce and simmer in it. Add garlic at the very end so its flavor and aroma don't evaporate. Serve the dish hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Rinse the poultry pieces, trim off any tendons and membranes if present. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- 2
Step 2

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and place the poultry pieces skin-side down. It is very important to heat the oil well so that the skin sears immediately; otherwise, it will stick to the bottom of the pan! Sear the chicken for about 20 minutes, turning occasionally.
- 3
Step 3

The chicken pieces should brown nicely on all sides. If the oil splatters excessively, cover the pan with a lid, but do not seal it completely, otherwise the chicken will steam instead of frying.
- 4
Step 4

In a bowl or cup, mix mayonnaise of any fat content, salt, and ground black pepper. Peel the garlic cloves, press them into the mayonnaise, and pour hot water over everything.
- 5
Step 5

Stir thoroughly, using a fork or whisk to create a mayonnaise sauce. Mayonnaise is difficult to mix, so it will take about 2-3 minutes.
- 6
Step 6

Pour the sauce into the pan and reduce the heat to medium. Cover the pan with a lid and simmer the chicken for about 20 minutes if it's broiler chicken, or 30-40 minutes if it's farm-raised (home) chicken.

Step 7

Boil rice or buckwheat, pasta, and serve the chicken hot with mayonnaise and garlic on a plate with porridge or salad. Enjoy your meal!
