Description

The recipe won't take much time. Prepare the marinade and coat the chicken legs with it. Marinate the chicken for about two hours. Then fry in a skillet. Serve hot.

Instructions

    Step 1

    Step 1

First, using a sharp kitchen knife, peel the garlic cloves and a piece of fresh ginger root. Rinse them under cold running water, dry with paper kitchen towels, then place them one by one on a cutting board, finely chop, and transfer to a mortar along with ground black pepper and sea salt. Grind these ingredients with a pestle into a paste.

After that, pour in liquid honey, freshly squeezed or concentrated lemon juice, and mix all the marinade ingredients until smooth.

Next, we rinse the fresh chicken drumsticks, simultaneously cleaning their skin with a new kitchen knife to remove small feathers and fine hairs. Then we dry the meat with paper towels, place the drumsticks one by one on a clean cutting board, and make three cuts to the bone on each side of every drumstick.

Now, with clean hands, coat all the drumsticks with the ginger marinade, rubbing it into the cuts to help it absorb better. Place the chicken into a clean plastic container, cover it tightly with a lid, and put it in a cool place, such as a cellar or refrigerator, for 1–2 hours. It's advisable to stir the meat several times during marinating!

After a few hours, when the chicken has absorbed the garlic-honey-ginger mixture, you can proceed to the final stage. Place a skillet over medium heat and pour in the required amount of vegetable oil. Once the oil is well heated, carefully place the drumsticks into the pan and fry them on all sides until a dark beige or brown crust forms. Stay close by—don't step away from the stove, as the marinade can quickly burn! As soon as the chicken is nicely browned, reduce the heat to a level between the lowest and medium. Pour the remaining garlic-honey-ginger mixture into the skillet, cover with a lid, and simmer the chicken for another 10–15 minutes, until fully cooked. Then turn off the heat and let the dish rest for 5–6 minutes.

Serve ginger-marinated chicken drumsticks hot as a main course. You can accompany this delicious dish with any side dish, from steamed, sautéed, baked, or fresh vegetables to sauces, various grain porridges, pasta, and, of course, bread. Enjoy!
