Chicken baked in the oven with lemon
Description
My grandmother prepares chicken in the oven with lemon for her grandchildren (including me). Believe me, I've never tasted such a crust anywhere else. Of course, perhaps the "culprit" is her old, Soviet-era oven. But still! I highly recommend making this chicken. The meat turns out incredibly juicy and delicious.
Instructions

Step 1

1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees. Wash the lemons and slice them into rounds.
- 2
Step 2

2. Peel the garlic and slice it into thick pieces. Rinse the chicken and make cuts in the skin under the wings. Insert lemon and garlic slices into the slits.
- 3
Step 3

3. Wash the basil. Place lemon slices, garlic, and basil inside the chicken.
- 4
Step 4

4. Rub the chicken with salt and pepper.

Step 5

5. Wash and cut the potatoes into large pieces. You don't need to peel the potatoes (especially young ones). It's enough to wash them using a stiff brush.

Step 6

6. Grease a non-stick baking sheet or pan with oil. Place the chicken on it (or rather, set it down), and arrange potatoes, lemon slices, and basil around it. Sprinkle everything with salt and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil.

Step 7

7. Bake the chicken for one to one and a half hours in a preheated oven at 160 degrees. The chicken is done when the meat separates easily from the leg bones.

Step 8

8. Serve the chicken with potatoes or on separate plates. Before serving, you can cut the chicken (I use large kitchen shears for this purpose).
