Chicken with mushrooms in a pan
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. I personally like this stovetop chicken with mushrooms recipe because you control the appearance and consistency yourself—if you simmer the cream a little less, you'll get a sort of mushroom sauce for the chicken. If you reduce it well and then bake it in the oven, it turns into something resembling a casserole. And if, for some reason, you don't have access to an oven, I'll tell you—simply serve the finished dish as is.

Step 1

1. Cut each chicken breast in half. Remove excess membranes and fat. Melt butter in a skillet and sauté the chicken pieces. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 2

2. Remove the fillet for now, and in the same oil sauté the mushrooms. When they are almost done, add the minced garlic and flour. Mix well.

Step 3

3. Pour the cream into the mushroom mixture, season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook on the stove until the cream thickens.

Step 4

4. Now place the mushrooms on top of the chicken on the dish. I usually bake it for a few more minutes to form a delicious crust, but this step is optional.
