Description

I've never been to Morocco, and I'm not sure I'll ever make it to this wonderful country, but with this Moroccan chicken recipe, I can easily treat myself to an exotic Arabic-style dinner. I've seen many shows about Morocco and can picture how vibrant this country looks—and this amazing dish is just as colorful as the place it comes from, both in appearance and in flavor. The chicken turns out incredibly tender and juicy, yet spicy and aromatic, thanks to an incredible combination of spices and ingredients that we won't find anywhere else. I've already prepared this chicken several times for my family, and it's always a huge hit. Now I'd like to share with you how to make Moroccan chicken, and I hope you'll love it just as much.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

First, we need to prepare the marinade for the chicken. For this, mix garlic, turmeric, cumin, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a blender bowl. You can add the amount of garlic and spices to your taste, but I use approximately one teaspoon of each spice. Blend all the ingredients in the blender until a paste forms.

    Step 2

Rub the chicken drumsticks with the prepared marinade and let them marinate for several hours in the refrigerator, or preferably overnight.

When the chicken has marinated well, we heat oil in a skillet and first sauté the onion, sliced into half-rings, until translucent, then add the chicken and fry everything together for a few more minutes.

Then pour in water so that the liquid covers the chicken halfway, add saffron and sliced lemon, and simmer over low heat for 25 minutes. At the end, add olives and chopped herbs. Our chicken is ready, and now you can taste it. Enjoy your meal!
