
Italian-style Chicken (Cacciatore)
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Cacciatore is very quick and easy to make. Italians sometimes also add a little white wine while stewing. Prepare the necessary ingredients. Cut the chicken meat into cubes, season with pepper and salt to taste, and drizzle with olive oil. Peel the onion and garlic.

Heat the oil with aromatic herbs in a skillet, sauté the chicken pieces for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer the meat to a plate and set aside.

Sauté the chopped onion and garlic in the remaining oil.

Peel the tomatoes, then press them with a spatula on the skillet and fry for 2 minutes.

Return the chicken meat to the skillet and mix well. Pour in the tomato juice/puree from canned tomatoes, and season with salt to taste. Add sugar to taste if needed, as the tomatoes may add excessive acidity. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook for another 15 minutes.
