Greek-style chicken
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. When we were vacationing in Greece, we were served this dish at one of the restaurants, which we called "Greek-style chicken." Originally, the chicken should be grilled over an open flame, but you can also cook it on a regular home stove—results are just as good. The key highlights here are the tzatziki sauce served with the chicken and the marinade used to soak the chicken. Give it a try—it's far tastier and more interesting than the hundredth time baked chicken with mayonnaise. The dish is ready to be served.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Let's start with the chicken. Cut the chicken fillet into long, thin pieces and marinate them in a mixture of olive oil, juice of half a lemon, salt, pepper, and oregano. Marinate for at least 3 hours.
- 2
Step 2

Grate the cucumber on a medium grater and squeeze out the liquid (but don't overdo it — there's no need to extract every drop of juice from the cucumber).
- 3
Step 3

Mix the grated cucumber with yogurt, juice of half a lemon, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- 4
Step 4

You'll end up with a sauce like this – this is the Greek tzatziki sauce.
- 5
Step 5

It remains to fry the marinated chicken pieces over high heat until a golden crust forms. This takes literally 7-8 minutes—the chicken fillet cooks very quickly. Serve immediately with the prepared sauce.
