Balkan-style chicken
Description
The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. I really enjoy unusual ingredient combinations, so I immediately liked this wonderful recipe for Bar-style chicken. Almost all the necessary ingredients were at hand, so I decided to cook this dish for dinner—and the amazing result exceeded my expectations. The combination of pickled cucumber and walnut in the sauce creates such a unique flavor that the entire dish acquires a refined character. I'm not sure why it has this name, but probably the pickled cucumber (a traditional Russian snack) played a role here. In any case, this chicken truly deserves a place on noble dining tables. And if you, like me, enjoy trying new and unusual dishes, I highly recommend this simple recipe for Bar-style chicken—I'm certain no one will remain indifferent to it. 1) First, remove the skin from the chicken breast and take out the bones. Cut the breast in half and lightly pound each piece. Then rub with salt and pepper, and let it marinate in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes. 2) Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and sear the chicken breasts on both sides over high heat until golden brown. Don't worry if the inside seems undercooked at this stage. 3) Now prepare the sauce. Peel the cucumber and grate it coarsely. Mince the garlic. Grind the walnuts in a coffee grinder and finely chop the herbs. Mix all these ingredients with sour cream. 4) Place the seared chicken breasts into a small skillet, arranging them tightly together. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (428°F) for approximately 20–30 minutes. That's it! The chicken is ready, and you can begin tasting. It's best to eat it right away, as reheating may cause the sauce to separate and diminish the flavor. Serve the dish immediately.
