
Boiled chicken
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Boiled chicken always comes in handy when preparing a salad or filling for a savory pie. You can boil any chicken parts or even a whole chicken. Moreover, it's an excellent dietary product and can be served for dinner with fresh vegetables. This provides a great dose of healthy protein without excess fat and beneficial vegetable carbohydrates. The chicken broth can be used to make a delicious soup, sauce, or other dishes. Serve hot.

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for cooking boiled chicken. Peel and rinse the vegetables.

If using a whole chicken, cut it into portions, remove the skin if desired, wash, and place in a pot.

Cut the onion into pieces and place it on the chicken.

Cut the carrots into large pieces and place them in a saucepan.

Cut the celery root and place it in a pot with the chicken and vegetables. Season everything with salt and add black peppercorns.

Place the pot over medium heat and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer the chicken for 30–40 minutes, until cooked through, skimming off the foam. Remove the cooked chicken, strain the broth, and discard the vegetables—they are no longer needed.
