Whole chicken on a bottle in the oven
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Choose a whole, uncracked bottle made of thick glass. It should be at room temperature. In this case, the bottle will serve as a spit—fill it with water and seasonings (or beer), then place it on a baking tray half-filled with water, so that the fat dripping from the chicken doesn't burn and smoke. Serve hot.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1
Prepare the marinade by mixing together in a bowl the vegetable oil, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, chili pepper, soy sauce, paprika, ginger, and salt.
- 2
Step 2
Rinse the chicken, pat dry, and rub the marinade both inside and outside. Place the prepared chicken in a plastic bag and refrigerate for 24 hours.
- 3
Step 3
Take a beer bottle filled halfway with beer and wrap it in foil. Slide a well-marinated chicken onto the bottle.
- 4
Step 4
In a separate bowl, mix the chunks of peeled potatoes with onion sliced into half-rings, minced garlic, vegetable oil, chopped dill, black pepper, and salt.
- 5
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- 6
Step 6
Place the potatoes with spices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and put the bottle with the chicken in the center of the sheet.
- 7
Step 7
Bake the chicken with potatoes for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes at 180 degrees.
- 8
Step 8
Remove the bottle 10-15 minutes before the end of cooking and pour the remaining beer over the chicken to get a beautiful, crispy crust.
- 9
Step 9
Place the hot potatoes on a serving dish, cut the baked chicken into portion pieces, and serve.
