Crimean style on butter
Description
Homemade treats for tea. Kurabie is usually made with clarified butter, which gives the cookies a special nutty flavor. However, if you don't have it, good-quality butter will still help you bake a delicious sweet treat. The cookies can be shaped in various forms: diamonds, circles, crescents, or flowers made from diamonds. Here's the recipe. Serve with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the necessary ingredients. Sift the powder and flour.
- 2
Step 2

Combine the butter with the powdered sugar and beat until smooth. Then add the egg yolk and beat.
- 3
Step 3

Add the flour and quickly knead a soft dough. Wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- 4
Step 4

On a work surface (silicone mat or parchment paper), roll out the dough into a 0.5 cm thick layer. Using a fork, make evenly spaced shallow grooves across the entire surface. Cut the dough into equal strips, then into equal diamonds.
- 5
Step 5

Carefully lift the pieces with a knife and place them on the baking sheet. Work quickly, as the dough softens fast.
- 6
Step 6

You can connect the diamonds to form flowers like these. Place the prepared pieces in a preheated oven at 180°C for 10-12 minutes. Adjust according to your oven. The cookies should remain light in color.

Step 7

Let the finished cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet, then remove and dust with powdered sugar.
