Description

The pastry is easy and quick to prepare. Now I'll show you in great detail. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

    1. First, prepare the ingredients for the cookies. The spice mix may differ from mine. Simply gather your favorite spices or buy a ready-made "gingerbread" spice mix. The butter should be at room temperature.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

    2. Prepare two bowls, in the first one mix the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and spices.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

    3. In another bowl, combine softened butter and sugar.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

    4. Using a hand mixer or blender, beat the butter with sugar until a fluffy light cream forms.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

    5. Add a raw egg and continue beating until the mixture becomes smooth.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

    6. Gradually add the flour to the butter mixture, mixing with a spatula to form the dough.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

    7. As soon as the dough starts coming together into a ball, transfer it to a floured surface and knead into a soft smooth ball.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Step 8

    8. The dough no longer sticks to your hands, but holds its shape well; it's soft and pliable. Finger marks remain and do not disappear. It's almost ready. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour. You can leave it like this for a longer period as well.

  9. 9

    Step 9

    Step 9

    9. Cut off a piece of dough and roll it out thinly. It's very convenient to roll it out on parchment paper, covering it with a second sheet of parchment paper, so it won't stick to the rolling pin. Then remove the top sheet of parchment and cut out the dough with a cookie cutter. The thickness should be 3-4 mm.

  10. 10

    Step 10

    Step 10

    10. Remove the excess dough between the cookies. Remember to leave small spaces between them, as the cookies will spread slightly in the oven.

  11. 11

    Step 11

    Step 11

    11. I made some larger and some smaller coins. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees until light golden brown.

  12. 12

    Step 12

    Step 12

    12. Remove the finished cookies from the parchment paper and let them cool. It's best to do this on flat surfaces, then simply gather them together once they have completely cooled.

  13. 13

    Step 13

    Step 13

    13. Now prepare the ingredients for the glaze: chilled egg white, lemon juice, starch, and powdered sugar. Also, food coloring. You can use not just one, but several colors (for example, brown and gold, or yellow and dark beige). It's up to you.

  14. 14

    Step 14

    Step 14

    14. Combine the egg white with the sifted powdered sugar.

  15. 15

    Step 15

    Step 15

    15. Simply mix with a whisk to combine the egg white and powder.

  16. 16

    Step 16

    Step 16

    16. Now beat the mixture with an electric whisk or mixer until it lightens in color, which will take about 6-8 minutes. Add the lemon juice and continue beating for another couple of minutes. The icing should be thick, smooth, and homogeneous.

  17. 17

    Step 17

    Step 17

    17. Divide the icing into portions. I divided it unevenly, as more white will be used, and add yellow food coloring to the other portion. If the icing turns out too thick, you can add a tiny bit of water with a coffee spoon, mix, and check the consistency. You can adjust the thickness with water.

  18. 18

    Step 18

    Step 18

    18. Done! White for the background, yellow for the text.

  19. 19

    Step 19

    Step 19

    19. Take two small piping bags, transfer the icing into them, and tie them tightly. Set the yellow one aside for now; you'll need the white one first. In this form, the icing can be stored in the refrigerator for some time—it won't dry out or spoil.

  20. 20

    Step 20

    Step 20

    20. Cut off the very tip of the cornet. And apply the background.

  21. 21

    Step 21

    Step 21

    21. Now there are two options: you can start painting with yellow after about 20-30 minutes, or wait until the icing is completely dry; then the yellow color will stand out clearly on top.

  22. 22

    Step 22

    Step 22

    22. I didn't wait for complete drying and drew "bitcoins" after just 20 minutes. The finished cookies should now be left to dry completely overnight. In the morning, you can put them into a bag or treat anyone who wants some edible cryptocurrency!

  23. 23

    Step 23

    Step 23

    23. Try bitcoins!
