Shrimp paste
Description
Perfectly pairs with meat, poultry, and side dishes. You can make this spread any day as long as you have frozen shrimp on hand. Do not add other herbs or spices, as the shrimp flavor is easily overpowered and it is precisely this flavor that plays the key role in this appetizer. The spread has a dip-like consistency, so it can easily be served with crackers or chips. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Bring water to a boil in a saucepan and add the shrimp. Since they are already pre-cooked before being frozen, you'll only need 3-4 minutes for them to thaw completely inside. Do not overcook the seafood, or they will become rubbery in texture.
- 3
Step 3

When the shrimp are cooked, pour them into cooled water, chill, and remove the shells.
- 4
Step 4

Transfer them to a deep bowl or blender container. Add sour cream and mayonnaise of any fat content, but with a neutral taste, not garlic-flavored! Season with salt and pepper.
- 5
Step 5

Rinse the parsley leaves and add them to the container. Do not add too much parsley, so it doesn't overpower the shrimp flavor and aroma.
- 6
Step 6

Grind everything for about 2-3 minutes, turning it into a paste.
- 7
Step 7

Chill in the refrigerator and serve with bread, placing in a sauce boat or ramekin.
