Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare the listed ingredients. Use large shrimp. If you purchased them frozen, thaw the seafood before cooking.
- 2
Step 2

Rinse the shrimp under water and pat dry with paper towels. Place them in a deep dish or salad bowl. Peel the garlic cloves and mince them together with the green onions. Add to the shrimp.
- 3
Step 3

Wash a quarter of a zucchini or squash and bell pepper and slice into pieces. Add to the shrimp. Pour in lemon juice, soy sauce, and vegetable oil. Add salt and ground black pepper and gently mix everything together.
- 4
Step 4

Leave the prepared mixture at room temperature for at least 30–40 minutes. If you make it ahead of time, place it in the refrigerator. You can marinate the shrimp for up to 4–5 hours; the key is to stir them from time to time.
- 5
Step 5

Then thread the shrimp and vegetable slices alternately onto wooden skewers.
- 6
Step 6

Place the "Yakitori" sauce in a saucepan or wok and pour in the remaining marinade. Heat for 2-3 minutes, but do not bring to a boil. If the sauce becomes too thin, stir in 1/2 tsp. cornstarch.
- 7
Step 7

Preheat the electric grill and grease the plates with vegetable oil. Place the skewers on them and cook for about 3–5 minutes. No more time is needed if cooking on maximum heat.
- 8
Step 8

Place the golden-brown kebabs on a plate and drizzle with the prepared sauce. Garnish with slices of hot red pepper and serve hot.
