Shrimp in Orange Crust
Description
This appetizer is quick and easy to make. By the ingredients and their amounts, I’d call this dish simple, but the flavor is so interesting, piquant, and unusual that you can serve it at a buffet or on a holiday table. Larger shrimp (king prawns) are best, but the store had none, so I bought regular ones—and it still turned out very well. Serve warm or chilled.

Step 1

1. First, I make a marinade from pepper, orange jam, and one orange. I wash the chili pepper and slice it into rings, removing all the seeds. I cut the orange and squeeze out the juice. I mix the jam with the orange juice and chili pepper. I wash and peel the shrimp, then marinate them in the mixture for about half an hour.

2. I transfer the starch to a plate and coat the marinated shrimp in starch on each side.

Step 3

3. I heat a skillet with olive oil added, add the shrimp and fry until cooked through, then pour in the marinade and let it crystallize. After that, I transfer the shrimp to a plate, let them cool slightly, and then serve.
