
Creole Shrimp
Description
A delicious appetizer for any gathering. A very tasty recipe for preparing shrimp in sauce that can be served with a side dish. They turn out best with large shrimp, tiger shrimp or langoustines, but small ones will be no less tasty and aromatic. Can be served warm or chilled.

Prepare all the ingredients. Thaw the shrimp in advance, peel them, wash the vegetables, and pat dry.

Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet and sauté the finely chopped yellow onion in it.

Cut the bell pepper, celery, garlic, and tomatoes, add to a skillet, and sauté over medium heat for 5 minutes.

Pour in the broth and tomato juice, simmer for 5 minutes; the sauce should reduce slightly and thicken.

Add bay leaf, salt, and black pepper to taste, pour in Worcestershire sauce, and sprinkle in cayenne pepper. Bring the sauce to a boil, taste it, and if it is too sour, you can add a little brown sugar to balance the flavor.

Add the shrimp tails to the sauce, stir, and let them sit for about a minute, then turn off the heat. Leave the shrimp covered in the sauce for 5–10 minutes to absorb all the flavors.

Serve the Creole-style shrimp with boiled rice, pouring the most delicious sauce over it.
