Instructions

Step 1

1. In a deep bowl, combine the cream with condensed milk. Beat until smooth. If the cream is intended only for adults, add a little rum or liqueur, for example.
- 2
Step 2

2. Make small holes in the ready and slightly cooled crust so that the cream penetrates better.
- 3
Step 3

3. Pour the cream over the cake layer, trying to spread it evenly. For the cake layer to soak properly, it needs at least 8 hours, but it's worth the wait.

Step 4

4. And to make the dessert even more delicious and juicy, I suggest preparing milk caramel. Pour milk into a saucepan and add a vanilla pod. Place over medium heat.

Step 5

5. After boiling, add the sugar. Dissolve the baking soda in a small amount of water and add it to the pot. Reduce the heat to the minimum and, stirring constantly, simmer until it turns caramel-colored and thickens. This will take at least an hour.

Step 6

6. After another half hour, you'll notice the mixture becoming similar to condensed milk. Remove the pot from the heat and continue stirring as it begins to cool (to prevent it from sticking to the pot). While still warm, pour it over the cake layer.

Step 7

7. Spread it evenly in a uniform layer. That's it—the delicious cream for soaking the cake layers, combined with caramelized milk, has transformed your simple sponge cake into an incredible dessert at home.

Step 8

8. Place in the refrigerator and let cool slightly. The resulting cake layer will be juicy, incredibly tender, and fluffy.
