
Cream for pastry cream
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Cooking this custard is easy, and with step-by-step photos and comments on each stage of the process, even a complete beginner in pastry arts will succeed. Vanilla is just one of the flavor options. You can also enhance the custard with lemon or orange zest, for example. Serve chilled.

1. Pour the milk into a saucepan, add salt, half of the sugar, and vanilla. Place over heat and bring to a boil.

2. Separately beat the eggs, the second part of sugar, and starch.

3. Gradually add the hot milk to the egg mixture (preferably through a sieve), constantly stirring to prevent the eggs from curdling.

4. Return to the heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the cream thickens.

5. Remove the finished cream from the heat, cover with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming, and let it cool slightly.
