Kreatopita
Description
The pastry is simple and quick to make. I would like to offer a step-by-step recipe with photos of this wonderful pastry. Kreatopita can be prepared for a family dinner, as a snack during the day, or even for the arrival of unexpected guests. In winter, when tomatoes are best avoided, I use canned tomatoes in their own juice or tomato paste. In summer, you can use two or three ripe tomatoes blended in a blender. Serve cooled or slightly warm.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.
- 2
Step 2

Dice the onion and sauté it until soft.
- 3
Step 3

Fry the minced meat, breaking up any lumps with a spatula, and cook it until it turns white.
- 4
Step 4

Then add the tomato paste, salt, and spices. Cook everything together for about another 3 minutes.
- 5
Step 5

The dough needs to be thawed, rolled out, and cut into strips. Grease the pan with oil and lay out the dough strips with a slight overlap. Carefully press the seams so that the filling juices do not leak out during baking.
- 6
Step 6

Spread the minced meat on top.
- 7
Step 7

Sprinkle the minced meat with grated cheese.
- 8
Step 8

Then cover the pie on top with the overhanging strips of dough. Place dough in the center so there are no gaps. Lightly press the dough with your hands.
- 9
Step 9

Brush the pie with egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in the oven at 190–200°C for 30–40 minutes until golden brown.

Step 10

The finished kreatopita can be served immediately.
