
Preserved Nettles
Description
A simple way to preserve for later. Stinging nettle is rich in carotene, rare vitamin K, and ascorbic acid. It is often mixed with sorrel in dishes. Moreover, nettle leaves contain a lot of chlorophyll, starch, and other beneficial substances and organic acids. The nutritional value of nettle is undeniable! How to preserve nettle? Read below. 1. Gather the tops (three leaves from the tip with the stem) of nettle shoots. It is best to do this before the plant flowers. Do not forget to wear thick rubber gloves, and only go to clean areas.

2. Thoroughly wash the leaves in cold water, chop them, and put them in a pot.

3. Pour cold water over the chopped nettles at a ratio of one part water to three parts nettles. Bring to a boil.

4. Transfer the boiling-hot mixture into pre-sterilized jars, cover with lids (do not seal yet!) and sterilize. Sterilize half-liter jars for 20–25 minutes, liter jars for 30 minutes. Then seal the jars with sterile lids.
