Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. Making this pastry will require some effort and patience. But it's worth it. The result is light, fluffy pastries with apricot jam in the center. Mouth watering yet? Then take a look. Can be served with tea or coffee.

First, dissolve the yeast in milk. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, mix the flour with sugar. Separately, combine rum, salt, egg yolks, vanilla, and melted butter. Then gradually combine all the ingredients and knead the dough. It should be smooth and sticky.

Leave the dough in a warm place for 60–90 minutes. Then roll the dough into a thick layer and cut out circles using a glass.

Leave the dough pieces for another 40 minutes to let them rise.

Then heat the required amount of oil in a deep saucepan. Fry the doughnuts for 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Once the krapfen have cooled, use a piping bag to add jam to their center. Decorate the pastries with powdered sugar.
