Persimmon crumble
Description
Perfectly pairs with tea and coffee. All crumbles have one thing in common: a thick layer of filling is placed at the bottom of the baking dish, and a buttery crumb topping is sprinkled on top. During baking, the filling releases juice, making the crumb topping crispy. The result is a delicious dessert with a tender texture dotted with crunchy bits. The popularity of various crumbles is also due to their simplicity: just arrange the fruit, cover with crumbs, and voilà! Serve for tea time. Can be served with tea or coffee.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

1. Prepare the ingredients. The butter should be left in the refrigerator for 2 hours before starting preparation; take it out immediately before use.
- 2
Step 2

2. Slice the persimmon into thin slices as shown in the photo, place them in a baking dish (grease the bottom of the dish with a piece of soft butter), and drizzle the entire surface of the persimmon with lemon or orange juice (according to your preference).
- 3
Step 3

3. Rub nutmeg and cardamom over the persimmon surface if you like these spices, and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- 4
Step 4

4. Now quickly prepare the dough. Quickly—because the butter shouldn't melt. Pour the pre-measured flour, sugar, and oats into a bowl, and grate the cold butter on a coarse vegetable grater.
- 5
Step 5

5. Mix the dough until crumbly, not until smooth.
- 6
Step 6

6. Sprinkle the persimmons with these crumbs. If you have a lot of crumbs left over, don't worry—you can put them in a container and store in the freezer for next time. Or you can do as I did: I baked another crumble, a smaller one, this time with apples.

Step 7

7. Place the pan in a preheated oven at 180 degrees and bake for 40-45 minutes (or until the topping is golden brown).
- 8
Step 8

8. That's it. The persimmon and spice crumble is ready. Enjoy the new flavor!
