Crab Sticks in Batter

Description

A tasty appetizer for any gathering. I tried making crab sticks in batter a couple of times, but mine never turned out well. I decided to fry them in dough instead—the result was excellent! When making crab sticks in dough, I add a little oatmeal so the dough is denser, and it gives a nice, distinctive flavor too. I recommend you try it as well. Serve the appetizer at the table.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

To keep the dish from being too bland, I suggest marinating the sticks in the dressing. For this, mix olive oil, juice from half a lemon, salt, and ground black pepper. Stir to combine.

    Step 2

Remove the plastic wrap from the crab sticks and mix them thoroughly with the prepared dressing. Let the sticks marinate while you prepare the dough.

To prepare the dough, add finely chopped onion to the oat flakes and season with salt.

Pour hot water over, cover with a lid, and let stand for 15 minutes until the flakes swell.

Next, beat an egg into the oat dough and mix. Then add the flour.

Knead in flour until the dough starts to come away from your hands. The softer the dough, the better: it should roll out easily.

    Step 7

Roll out a piece of dough and place a crab stick on one edge.

Wrap the dough tightly, including the edges.

Fry on a preheated pan with sunflower oil on all sides until golden brown.
