Walnut Halva
Description
The recipe won't take much time. Walnuts are very popular and widely available, so home cooks use them in various dishes: making sauces, adding to baked goods, or using as a coating for cutlets. They also make delicious halva-like candy (kozinaki) from walnuts. The result is a tasty treat without preservatives, flavor enhancers, or artificial flavors—safe even for children. Serve chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Clean the nuts and chop them into small but noticeable pieces with a knife. Transfer them to a skillet and toast. Once the nuts are slightly toasted, move them to a separate container.
- 2
Step 2

Pour honey into a hot pan, add sugar, and boil until the honey reduces (a drop placed on a saucer should not spread).
- 3
Step 3

Add the nuts, stirring constantly to prevent the mixture from browning.

Step 4

Take a clean wooden board, grease it with oil, place the nut-honey mixture on it, and roll it out with a rolling pin into a flat slab (about 1.5 cm or 1 cm thick). Let it cool slightly, then cut into small diamonds using a sharp heated knife.
