Rye Flour Gingerbread

Description

Rye flour is much healthier than wheat flour. Baked goods made from rye flour don't spoil your figure and contain beneficial antioxidants. In this recipe, we use honey instead of sugar, so the taste might seem a bit unusual at first, but the next day the gingerbread becomes even more delicious. Serve cooled or slightly warm.

    1. Chop the walnuts, raisins, dried apricots, and candied fruits. Bring the water to a boil, dissolve honey and spices in it, and mix thoroughly.

    2. Add the nuts and dried fruits to the water, mix in the sifted wheat and rye flour, then add the eggs and oil. Knead the dough.

    3. Grease the baking pan with oil, or line it with parchment paper. Pour the batter into the pan and let it sit at room temperature for twenty minutes. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and bake the cake for 40–50 minutes.

    4. Remove the baked goods from the oven, let cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and serve with tea or coffee.
