Step 1

1. Before starting the cooking process, soak several slices of bread in milk or cream. Ten minutes is enough.

Step 2

2. It's better to prepare breadcrumb-coated meatballs in the oven at home using fresh meat rather than ready-made ground meat. To do this, pass washed and dried meat (in this case, chicken) through a meat grinder. Peel the onion and mince it as well. Optionally, you can add 1-2 garlic cloves. In a deep bowl, combine the ground meat, onion, egg, and well-squeezed bread. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Optionally, you can add more meat seasonings.

Step 3

3. Mix thoroughly to prevent lumps and achieve a uniform consistency. If the mixture is too thick, add a little milk or an egg.

Step 4

4. With hands moistened with cold water, shape the patties and coat them on both sides with breadcrumbs. If desired, add a little spice or dried herbs to the breadcrumbs.

Step 5

5. That's practically the entire recipe for preparing breaded cutlets in the oven. All that's left is to place the ready cutlets onto a baking sheet or heatproof dish, previously greased with vegetable oil. Put the cutlets into a preheated oven for 35–40 minutes (depending on their size). If desired, you can sprinkle them with grated cheese on top to form a crust.

Step 6

6. When the cutlets are ready, they can be served immediately. If desired, garnish with fresh herbs on top.
