Meatballs with mozzarella

60 min4 serv.19 февр. 2026 г.

Description

The dish is prepared without unnecessary complications. Meatballs with mozzarella are a universal dish. Only a committed vegetarian could possibly refuse such a delicious treat. Yes, this food isn't diet-friendly. But surely it's acceptable for a celebration! Especially if you have men or children at home who need plenty of calories for growth. The finished dish can now be served at the table.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

If you're using ready-made minced meat for making cutlets, it's better to choose beef, or a mix of beef and pork. Pure pork mince will be too fatty. Such cutlets are best simmered in water without adding oil. As you understand, chicken mince is the most diet-friendly option.

    Step 2

Chop the onion. Add it to the bowl with the minced meat. Break one egg into the bowl. Add salt, pepper, dried herbs, and other spices to taste. You can also add soaked rice, white bread crumbs, or simply a handful of flour. This helps the meatballs hold together better.

    Step 3

    Step 3

From the prepared minced mixture, make small pancakes. Place a piece of mozzarella in the center of each pancake. Inside, you can also add a tomato, garlic, or anything else you'd like.

    Step 4

Roll up our meat pancake. You should get a ball with cheese inside. When frying, do not disturb it with a spatula. Turn it carefully so the cheese doesn't leak out. For extra firmness, coat the patties in flour before frying.

Heat the frying pan. Pour in sunflower oil. Place the meatballs coated in flour into the pan and fry them on all sides. This cooking method is not entirely healthy. If you have health issues, especially with the liver, I recommend not using oil, but adding water instead. Or better yet, cook them in a steamer.

Reduce the heat, add a little tomato paste or crushed tomatoes to the skillet. The patties will turn out more flavorful and rich. Cover them with a lid and simmer for 10 minutes. Transfer the cooked patties onto a plate. Here's how they look when sliced. Delicious!
