Steamed cutlets in a steamer

Description

The recipe won't take much time. Serve chicken meatballs hot. I think there will be no difficulty with side dishes. Everything is appropriate: porridge, potatoes in any form, pasta, vegetables, greens, and sauces. Serve hot.

Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Step 1

My husband doesn't really like store-bought ground meat, so we make it at home—it's easier than it seems. We wash the chicken fillet, dry it with paper towels, cut it into small pieces, and grind it through a meat grinder. Then we transfer the prepared ground meat into a bowl.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Step 2

Bread is not a mandatory ingredient in meatballs, but it makes them more tender. You can use either breadcrumbs or fresh bread—this won't affect the outcome. Soak both types in milk beforehand. With breadcrumbs, simply squeeze out the excess milk and add them to the meat mixture. If using fresh bread, after soaking in milk, pass it through a meat grinder together with the meat.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Step 3

Peel the onion and grate it. Alternatively, you can finely chop it if you don't mind onion pieces in the meat mixture. Done? Transfer it to the bowl with the meat.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Step 4

Peel the garlic clove and grate it on a grater or press it with a garlic press, then add to the bowl. That's it, the ingredient preparation is complete. Now you can make the patties.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Step 5

So, in a bowl we have ground meat, squeezed bread crumbs, grated onion and garlic. Add to them a tablespoon of sour cream, one egg, salt and spices. Chicken fillet is quite dry by itself, so we add sour cream to make the patties juicy and tender. To prevent the patties from drying out, I like adding grated zucchini, which makes them even juicier.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    Step 6

All ingredients need to be thoroughly mixed.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Step 7

Now we proceed to the final part of our recipe: shape the meat mixture into patties and place them in a steamer. To prevent the meat from sticking to your hands, moisten them with cold water. Cover the steamer with a lid and cook the patties for about 25–30 minutes. After that, they are ready to be served.
