Description

Instructions

Step 1

The base of the filling for our cutlets is meat. You can buy ready-made minced meat, or you can make it yourself by choosing a suitable piece of meat and removing the membranes and fat. You will definitely need a meat grinder or blender to prepare the minced meat.

Step 2

To enhance the flavor of the meat and add aroma, take a medium or large onion, peel off the skin, and finely chop it. You can use a blender, but do not turn the onion into a puree.

Step 3

We do the same with the garlic.

Step 4

To bind the meat mixture so that the patties hold their shape, we will need one raw potato. We will wash it, peel it, and grate it finely on a grater or finely chop it in a blender. Now everything is ready for cooking.

Step 5

In a deep bowl, mix the ground meat, grated potato, onion, and garlic. Then add the eggs, and season with salt and pepper to taste. To make the patties juicy, add a tablespoon of milk to the mixture. Thoroughly mix the ingredients until well combined. You can mix the meat mixture with a spoon, or use a blender—it will take less effort and time.

Step 6

Place the steamer nearby and start preparing the cutlets. Be sure to wet your hands with cold water so the meat mixture doesn't stick to them and shapes easily. Scoop up the mixture with a tablespoon, roll it between your palms into a cutlet shape, and place it into the steamer. Try not to place the cutlets too close together to prevent them from sticking. Close the steamer and set it to the "steam cooking" mode. Steam the cutlets for 30 minutes. When the time is up, turn off the steamer and let the cutlets rest. These 10 minutes will be just enough time to set the table.

Step 7

Steamed meatballs go well with any side dish, such as mashed potatoes or boiled rice. They also pair nicely with fresh vegetable salads or simply pickles. Try making a sauce for the steamed meatballs to enhance the exceptional flavor of this healthy dish.
