Cranberry and Prune Tartlets

Description

The bake comes together simply and quickly. Puff pastry baskets are easy to make, but there are a few nuances worth noting. Roll the base for the baskets a little thinner and slightly larger than the bottom of the molds. Press the braided rim firmly against the sides of the molds so they don’t collapse during baking. Bake the baskets until half done, then spread the filling on top and bake until fully done. Serve warm or chilled. Perfect with tea.

    Prepare the necessary ingredients.

    Prepare the filling. Transfer the clean cranberries into a saucepan. Add sugar. Place over medium heat. Cook for 10 minutes. When the cranberries start to thicken, remove from the heat.

    Cut the prunes into strips. Add them to the cranberries. Stir and return to the heat. Simmer from the moment it comes to the boil for 3–4 minutes, then remove from the heat. Cool.

    Prepare the base for the tart shells. Roll out the puff pastry to a thickness of 0.3 cm. Cut out circles to match the mold so that the bottom overlaps the sides.

    From another sheet of puff pastry, cut strips. Cut each strip into three pieces and braid them.

    Place the pastry bases into the baking molds. Attach the “braids” to the base. Press them against the sides of the mold. Prick the bottom of the little basket frequently with a fork. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20 minutes.
