King Prawns in Batter
Description
Suitable for both special occasions and everyday meals. I turn to this king prawn in batter recipe when I want to treat myself to something nice, or when I’m expecting guests and want to make them a tasty, attractive dish. King prawns in batter will be a highlight on any table. For a festive dinner, you can serve dry white wine—it pairs very well with this appetizer. They can be served warm or chilled.
Instructions
- 1
Step 1

Thaw the shrimp, rinse thoroughly, and clean them.
- 2
Step 2

To give our king prawns a richer flavor, marinate them for 10 - 15 minutes. For the marinade, add grated garlic to taste, a little salt, and ground allspice to vegetable oil (olive oil is best).
- 3
Step 3

Prepare the batter for frying the shrimp in advance. Pour beer or mineral water into the flour and beat in an egg. The batter should be the consistency of pancake batter. Let it rest briefly so the gluten can develop. After the shrimp have marinated, pat them dry with paper towels. Hold each shrimp by the tail and dip it in the batter.

Step 4

Place the shrimp on a skillet preheated with vegetable oil. They cook quickly, only 2–3 minutes, or they will become tough. The main thing is to get a nicely browned crust.

Step 5

Royal shrimp in batter are ready. Place them on a plate and drizzle with lemon juice. Serve on lettuce leaves with lemon cut into wedges.
