Milk cookies
Description
Perfect for tea and coffee. For some reason, we never baked milk cookies often in our family, probably because they were easier to buy at the store. But now, in times of counterfeits and substitutes, it's clear that it's better to cook at home—including baked goods. Making these cookies won't be difficult at all, but will definitely bring warmth to your kitchen! Treat your children to one of your favorite childhood sweets. The baked goods are ready. Serve at the table.
Instructions

Step 1

Cut the softened butter into pieces and place in a bowl. Rub it with sugar. You can set aside a little sugar for sprinkling on top, if desired. Add 1 large or 2 small eggs. Beat together with the butter. Sift flour with baking powder. Mix with a fork. Add milk.

Step 2

You can add vanilla, cinnamon, or cocoa to the dough to taste. Knead soft, pliable dough. Knead it well until there are no lumps. Let it rest under a towel for about 15–20 minutes.

Step 3

Take out the rolling pin, sprinkle the table with flour, and roll out the dough to a thickness of about one centimeter. Take a metal muffin cutter and press flower-shaped pieces out of the dough. There will be leftover dough. You can use the scraps to make more cookies.

Step 4

Take a baking sheet and preheat the oven. Grease the baking sheet with oil. Place the cookies on the sheet, arranging them so they don't touch each other. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for about 15–20 minutes.

Step 5

If desired, brush the biscuits with yolk 5 minutes before they are done, and sprinkle them with powdered sugar. Serve the biscuits with tea, coffee, or, as in childhood, with milk.
